welcome back, got up to 40 degrees today, that average climbing up, 44 degrees. it was a cold start to the day with the clear skies, and a whole lot of sunshine for the afternoon. now we're down to 37 in baltimore, but take a look to the west. 41 in cumberland and that's because the clouds are coming in and the winds have turned around to the south and a new storm is on the way. we're not going to drop as much tonight. most of us are going to stay above freezing and western parts of the state and along the border it's probably going to go slightly below freezing when the storm system arrives and that's why there's a freezing rain advisory that
6:48 pm
starts at varying times but overnight into the morning hours and you can see that also does include garrett county. for the rest of us, this is a rain event, and temperatures going to the 50s tomorrow. here are the clouds already starting to come in and here's that storm. it is another really big one. but the worst of it is going to be to the west, numerous tornado reports on the southern side and that is what's moving in our direction. but it will weaken by the time is gets here. for us, we are going to get the clouds tonight. we are going to get rain out of this, and you can see the warmer air making a big push here, the icy mix far to the north. unfortunately for a lot of the areas that got so much snow with the last storm system, this is going to be a flooding issue and there's going to be ice to deal with on top of the snow. for us, though, as we said, we get the clouds and we're going to get rain tomorrow. it will get out of here fairly early tomorrow, making it a little bit of sunshine breaking o out before the end of the day with the temperatures really jumping. then on tuesday, that cooler
6:49 pm
air is slow to come in but it will eventually arrive and that will set the stage for another storm. wednesday night into thursday. this one coming up from the south is going to clip us on the southern edge and a rain snow mix is possible with that one. on the waters with all of this going on, we have install craft advisories going into effect probably into tuesday with the wind staying up up. dropping down to 32 degrees tonight, rain arriving late and out west along the border it may start as an icy mix before changing over to rain and we mean changing over to rain because 57 degrees for the high tomorrow. a lot of the rain will start to move away. we may see sunshine breaking through and we said, the cooler air is coming in and 50 for a high on tuesday and there's the next storm, most of wednesday looks fine and so later wednesday into thursday morning, rain snow mix is possible. that gets out of here and then as we head toward the weekend, colder air is moving our way.
